Ionized water is used extensively in Japan and Korea where extensive research and clinical trials have shown it to be safe and effective at healing a variety of ailments and improving health. Now you can make your own medical grade super alkaline and acid waters tens to hundreds of times stronger than from other ionizers for a fraction of the cost, with more control over the purity of your water. Drinking alkaline water is highly detoxifying and rejuvenative; it neutralizes acids and free radicals in the body. When the blood and overall body pH are slightly alkaline, the body's varied functions operate optimally. One glass of super alkaline water from this ionizer has millions of antioxidants, more than any other source, with no digestion required. Acid water is antiseptic and astringent yet very safe and mild; it can be used externally for cleaning, disinfecting, and a variety of uses (see details below).
How It Works
FLOW-THROUGH VERSUS BATCH MODELS
There are two main types of water ionizers, "flow-through" and "batch" models. Flow-through models connect to your faucet or plumbing line and electrify the water as it flows through. Almost all of the ionizers on the market are flow-through. Batch models hold water in two tanks, one acid, and one alkaline, separated by a porous membrane, and electrify the water as it sits, allowing for much more contact time with the water. Batch models therefore make acid and alkaline waters with pH and electrical charge (oxygen-reduction potential, or ORP) tens to hundreds of times stronger than flow-through models. (The pH scale, a measure of acidity and alkalinity, is logarithmic, so every single digit increase in pH represents a tenfold increase.) Expensive flow-through ionizers that connect to your faucet such as Jupiter, Kangen, Enagic, Tyent, Microwater, Delphi, and other brands essentially make weak ionized water for continual drinking, but it is not as rejuvenative as the much stronger super ionized waters from batch models. Batch models have a water reservoir that holds water for 1 to 12 hours while it is electrified with direct current electricity. This is known as hydrolysis, and it separates hundreds of millions of H2O molecules in each batch into OH- (alkaline) and H+ (acid) ions.
pH (ION CONTENT) VERSUS ORP (ELECTRICAL CHARGE)
It's important to understand a little background to make an informed purchasing decision. pH, or potential of hydrogen, is a measurement of acidity or alkalinity, or more specifically, the amount of positive H+ and negative OH- ions in the water. A pH of 7 is neutral, below that is acid, above is alkaline. The pH scale is logarithmic, so every single digit increase in pH represents a tenfold increase. Oxygen-reduction potential, or ORP, is a measure of how electrically charged and chemically reactive water is, and is measured in millivolts. Alkaline water measures between zero and about -1,200 millivolts (thousandths of a volt), acid water measures between zero and about +1,200 millivolts. According to Dr. Yoshiaki Matsuo PhD, a contributing inventor of the water ionizer, redox potential, or ORP, is moreimportant than pH for alkalizing the body. It is the electrical charge of the
water that is most important factor in receiving health benefits, pH is a secondary effect of the electrical charge and the amount of minerals in the water to hold the charge. With chemically treated pH solutions, you can have high alkaline pH with low ORP and miss out on the main benefits.
Getting Beyond The Hype of Ionizer Ads
Hydrolysis is a very simple process. Electrodes are immersed in the water and send positive DC voltage into one side of the ionizer to make acid water, and negative into the other side to make alkaline water. Electrode size, contact time with water, voltage, and the mineral content of the water are what determine how strong the ionized water is. Ionizers can only use up to about 24 volts DC to ionize water before the potential of electric shock to the consumer becomes too dangerous. So all consumer ionizers capacities are limited by this voltage. Therefore, the only way to strengthen ORP and pH is to make larger electrodes and lengthen water contact time. Titanium electrodes are very expensive and can only be made so large before the ionizer becomes unaffordable. So a balance must be struck between electrode size and water contact time. The 2G ionizer has smaller electrodes and longer contact time (8 to 12 hours) to make an affordable ionizer that still produces water fast enough to satisfy the daily needs of two or three people.
What They Don't Tell You
YOUR RESULTS ARE DEPENDENT ON YOUR WATER
First of all, flow-through ionizers are dependent on the quality of water that you have coming from your tap. Considering that the Associated Press and others have confirmed that most if not all municipal water in the US is contaminated with pharmaceuticals and chemicals, you must have a comprehensive water purification system that not only removes chemical toxins, but also clears the toxic homeopathic information stored in the subatomic structure of the water, and returns it to a truly natural "living" state found in nature. Despite claims, so far we have not found any systems that can do this because the Earth's hydrological cycle is so complex. So ionizing tap water is a toxic proposition, and the small filters that some ionizers include do not begin to properly purify tap water, even chemically.
Ionizers must have minerals in the water to make ions that give the water a strong pH and electrical charge, The fewer minerals you have in your water, the weaker your ionized water will be. So if you have limited minerals in your water, you will have weak ionized water, and many municipal supplies and wells have poorly mineralized water. With a flow-through ionizer, you can't buy good bottled water or add minerals to your tap water to make strong ionized water as with a batch model. So you wind up with alkaline pH values around 10 or lower, typically around 8.5 to 9, as this independent video shows:
You can have the best flow-through ionizer in the world, but if your water has few minerals as with many tap waters, you'll get very weak or neutral ionized water.
But more importantly, flow-through models give poor ORP values around -150 millivolts, as compared to pH 11 and ORP values around -800 millivolts with the 2G or Biontech BTM-3000 batch ionizers. (pH is a logarithmic scale, so pH 11 is 10 times the strength of pH 10.) So comparing flow-through ionizers is a moot point, they're all much inferior to batch models.
So it's important to use a batch ionizer with pure adequately mineralized water. We recommend using good purified well or bottled spring water, with a small amount of liquid sea minerals or unrefined salt (Celtic, Himalayan, etc.) added if needed to adequately mineralize the water. We recommend against using municipal tap water, treated or not, because of the poor homeopathy of the water even when treated; see our info on water purification below.
YOU NEED A SEPARATE WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM
Some flow-through models have filters to slightly clean the water, but none are comprehensive enough to give sufficient purification, it is more of a marketing tactic. Water purification and ionization are two different issues; no ionizer will purify water sufficiently for drinking, although they do kill bacteria. Water purification requires several different processes to sufficiently remove toxins or undesirable elements such as excessive hardness (minerals that can stick to your plumbing pipes and affect your health), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), heavy metals, bacteria, etc. without harming the water. Spending money on a filter in your ionizer is a waste of money. For water purification, we recommend Wholly Water Systems, they do not make water acidic, strip out minerals, or damage the homeopathy of water as do other systems on the market. For water testing, we recommend National Testing Labs, they have a 75-item comprehensive high quality "Watercheck" analysis for 1/2 to 1/3 the price found elsewhere. When buying bottled water, look for spring water in hard (PET) type 1 plastic, or glass if you can find it. (Water in 5-gallon glass bottles is rare these days). Call the producer and ask if the water has gone through reverse osmosis filtration or has been distilled. If so, use another water that has not. RO water is very acidic, both waters have been stripped of minerals, and have poor homeopathy.
The Importance of Titanium Electrodes
Another key factor for quality is the material the electrodes are made of. Most good ionizers on the market use electrodes made of grade 1 titanium. Titanium will not dissolve in your ionized water as will cheaper metals like stainless steel. Titanium is expensive and is a major part of the ionizer cost. The 2G ionizer uses grade 1 titanium electrodes.
Maximizing Benefits and Minimizing Expense With Water Ionizers
The 2G Ionizer makes water equal in quality to our Biontech BTM-3000 and superior to other ionizers costing thousands of dollars. Flow-through water ionizers really make weakly ionized water for continual drinking throughout the day, not highly rejuvenative super alkaline water. Rather than spending thousands of dollars for weak ionized and possibly polluted drinking water from your faucet, we use super alkaline purified water at full strength in limited amounts and then mix it with purified drinking water to bring the pH up to about 8.5. (You can use pH test drops to test the pH.) This way, we get the benefits of both strong and milder pure ionized water without the high cost.
Which To Buy, The 2G Ionizer, or Biontech BTM-3000?
We can sell any water ionizer on the market. We researched ionizers and chose the Biontech BTM-3000 and the 2G ionizers because they make much stronger medical grade super alkaline and acid waters for much lower cost than other ionizers on the market. There are only a very few batch type models on the market at all, and they are clearly superior at making strongly ionized waters. The other other batch ionizers we researched were also good but very expensive laboratory and hospital models. When used as directed, this unit makes one gallon each of pH 10 to 11 alkaline water with ORP of -800 to -1,000 millivolts, and pH 4 to 5 acid waters with ORP of 800 to 1,000 millivolts every 8 to 12 hours, enough for daily use by one or two people. The electrodes are made of high grade titanium and will last for many years corrosion free, unlike cheap stainless steel on some other models. It has 1/4 the speed of the Biontech BTM-3000, does not automatically shut off, is not as easy to decant the waters into other containers, and requires slightly more effort to set up, but for a fraction of the price is a great affordable way for one to three people to have consistent high quality medical grade alkaline and acid waters. Note this is a water ionizer, not a water purifier. You must use clean pure water, preferably high quality spring or well water that has not been distilled, filtered with reverse osmosis, or chemically treated. We recommend using bottled spring water or good well water with liquid sea minerals such as Concentrace added. Liquid sea minerals give a balanced spectrum of minerals, with sodium removed, in the correct ratios for the human body.
Storing Ionized Waters
We recommend storing your super alkaline water and drinking water in ceramic dispensers (not glass, plastic, or metal) in your kitchen. Ceramic does not negatively affect the water chemically or energetically as do plastic and metal, and glass will allow light through that de-ionizes the water. Wood containers can hold bacteria and are not recommended. Alkaline water will remain strong for about 4 to 5 days at room temperature in a ceramic crock. Acid water will last much longer, around two weeks, and can be kept in a ceramic, glass, or hard plastic container in a dark cabinet.
Uses For Ionized Waters
Super alkaline water is so detoxifying that you must gradually increase the amount consumed to avoid cleanse reactions such as a mild headache.The super acid water is also much more antiseptic than flow-through acid water and is better for its many external uses (see below).
SOME ALKALINE WATER USES
Drink daily to neutralize free radicals in the body, rejuvenate the body and cells, detoxify the body, and increase energy. The OH- ions in alkaline water release oxygen into the cells, which improves cell function and detoxification.
Mix with good purified drinking water to bring pH up to about 8.5 for good alkalinity. Many bottled, spring, and well waters are acidic.
Use for cooking, makes food tastier, tenderizes foods.
Soak beans before cooking to make them more tender and flavorful, and to reduce gas.
Feed to pets and animals to improve their health and energy, and reduce urine and feces odor.

SOME ACID WATER USES
Athlete's Foot — soak your feet for 20 to 30 minutes daily in full strength water to kill athlete's foot fungus.
Dental Irrigation — use full strength in an oral irrigator ("water pik") after brushing teeth, then irrigate again with ionized alkaline water or plain water. Kills bacteria and leaves your teeth and gums squeaky clean. Very useful for colds and flus.
cuts, burns, and insect bites — soaking the affected area for a few minutes relieves pain, itching, and reduces scarring
Watering plants and sprouts — they love it and it prevents or removes mold. (Just soak sprouting seeds in alkaline water, then water with acid water while growing.)
Water cut flowers, makes them last longer.
Cleaning — acid water is more antiseptic than chlorine bleach, yet very safe and nontoxic, so you can use it for washing all kinds of stuff around the house, bathroom and kitchen surfaces, showers and bathtubs, disinfect laundry, dish water, veggies, mix it in window cleaner or veggie wash, etc.
Use as an astringent on hair and skin, rinse your hair with it to remove conditioner and shampoo buildup.
