Ken Rohla says:

Over the years I have used several models of Vitamix, Blendtec, L'Equip, and Waring blenders. This is by far my favorite due to its greater power than all the others, larger carafe, simple variable speed operation (I find the Blendtec pre-programmed operation very annoying, never blends the way I want), it fits under my kitchen cabinets, and the price is lower than "comparable" blenders by Vitamix and Blendtec. This is a blender that will last a lifetime. Even with thick nut patés, this blender doesn't bog down like other brands. My previous blender, a Vitamix 5200, didn't have nearly the power of this one, and it had a defective speed dial that would jump speeds after only a few months of use (I have heard of two other people with this problem). I had a Blendtec Total Blender and really disliked it, too small, pre-programmed cycles were too hard to operate, and liquid would fly out of the lid's air holes sometimes (same for the Vitamix). I can sell any blender, my distributors have them all. This is the only one I recommend. For a decent inexpensive blender, check out the L'Equip RPM 228.

Features:

  1. Less expensive than the Vitamix 5200 or Blendtec (aka Ktec) Extreme or Connoisseur
  2. Heavy-duty 3.5 peak output HP motor beats Vitamix's 2 HP and Blendtec's best 3 HP blenders
  3. 45,000 RPM compared to 37,500 for Vitamix, 28,000 for Blendtec, and 20,000 for L'Equip RPM 228 (bare motor speed)
  4. 80 ounce (actual) carafe larger than Vitamix's and Blendtec's 64 ounces, yet fits under most kitchen cabinets, unlike the Vitamix
  5. Liquids cannot leak or splash through lid, unlike the Vitamix and Blendtec
  6. Larger carafe base less likely to get food stuck
  7. Simple variable speed operation, unlike the two-speed Vitamix 4500 or pre-programmed Blendtec
  8. Waring and Vitamix carafes are interchangeable, great for classes or kitchens with multiple blenders
  9. Adjustable manual speeds from 1,500 to 20,000 RPM
  10. 30,000 RPM burst of speed using pulse button
  11. One-piece dishwasher-safe removable jar pad makes cleaning base easier
  12. Waring SE1000 sound enclosure available for quieter operation
