THE WORD ON ZEOLITES AND E3 LIVE FROZEN ALGAE*Folks have been asking me about two supplements that have been getting a lot of buzz lately, Natural Cellular Defense (NCD) and E3 Live. I'll tackle NCD first. Natural Cellular Defense/Zeolites Gabriel Cousens, MD's NCD Support Page Product Info From Gabriel Cousens Online Store Waiora.com, manufacturer of Natural Cellular Defense zeolites I have used it and I do have some words of caution. A little goes a long way. Recommended intake is 30 drops a day for ten days, then drop to nine drops a day for maintenance. I did my 30 drops for ten days and felt fine, no cleanse reactions, just as Gabriel Cousens and others have reported. I read Dr. Cousens' article about using 45 drops a day initially, so being gung-ho as I usually am, I bumped my dosage up to 45 drops a day. I didn't feel any different for five days, and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I started feeling like I was going to have a heart attack, my nervous system felt inflamed, my pulse was fast, my heart was beating hard, and I felt stressed. That lasted off and on for days, and I was doing a variety of things like drinking massive quantities of fresh squeezed green drinks, water, and electrolytes to calm it down. After a week of this, things finally returned to normal, but by then my skin had begun to erupt with pimples and blemishes, a sign I've seen several times before from detoxing too rapidly. My teeth also became senstive to hot and cold; I also heard this from two other people who took NCD at the recommended intake. So a word of caution: when using NCD or other zeolites, don't overdo the recommended intake. Zeolites are very good at pulling toxins and heavy metals out of the body, but the faster you do that, the more likely you'll have an adverse cleanse reaction (aka, Herxheimer reaction). NCD costs $50 per tiny 15 ml bottle, but the cost is not that bad since one bottle will last 3 weeks at the initial 30 drops per day, after that a bottle will last about 9 weeks on the 9 drops per day maintenance dosage. However, I am investigating a zeolite product that is reported to be just as good as NCD for 1/4 the price. I will post info on that to this web site and my e-mail list when I know more. Based on what I've seen so far, I think NCD is a great supplement to take for cleansing, but I don't think I'd want to take it continually, partly because it's not food, and partly because it's one more supplement to take and pay for. E3 Live (Frozen Klamath Lake Blue-Green Algae) Now, before you say, "Yuck, algae!" read on. This is one of the few supplements that I take on a regular basis because it is so amazing for what it costs, and the taste isn't that bad to begin with, but you can water it down a little or mix it in juice to mask the taste. You only take two tablespoons a day, so it's easy. E3 Live is just frozen blue-green algae from Klamath Lake, Oregon. I say just, but it is far superior to dry powdered Klamath Lake algaes, and practically speaking, has many benefits that make it worth the $30 per month price. I have used many excellent powdered Klamath lake algaes, but none compare with E3 Live. I've seen it noticeably heal the brain, improve memory, increase energy, heal the nervous system, feed and regenerate cells, and detoxify the body on myself and others. You can read product details at It tastes like a cross between seaweed and wheatgrass juice (if you've had them). It comes frozen in a plastic bottle. The manufacturer says to thaw a few days worth at a time and refreeze the rest since it goes bad within a week. I don't like the idea of thawing and refreezing several times, so I thaw a whole bottle, dole it out into small plastic condiment cups with lids (like fast food restaurants use for ketchup), refreeze them all and then thaw a day or two's worth at a time in the fridge. You can get condiment cups and lids at warehouse clubs like Sam's Club, or from restaurant supply stores, or online. I can't say that I enjoy the taste but I'm addicted to the energy boost and better brain power. As long as I'm on the subject of algae, another great product from Hippocrates Health Institute that I also use for brain power is Life Give Brain. It actually tastes great because the algae is in apple pectin, and I also notice improved memory and brain power. You can call the Hippocrates Store to order it (561-471-8876, ext. 124). A month's supply is about $25. |
